A friendly visitor

We recently undertook flora and fauna surveys on Christmas Island and had a visit from an inquisitve Christmas Island Goshawk (Accipiter fasciatus natalis) who landed on our ute to check out what we were doing. The CI Goshawk is listed as Endangered and there is believed to be a few hundred individuals on Christmas Island. They nest in forest trees and raise one, or sometimes two chicks.
