Red Crab Migration

November saw the start of the wet season this year on Christmas Island and the island's famous annual red crab migration where the females travel from the rainforest in the heart of the island down the sea cliffs to the ocean to spawn. During this period roads are closed and the public is urged to take every care to protect the migrating crabs.
